Antonina Shevchenko
Antonina Shevchenko is an Kyrgyzstani Muay-Thai fighter from Peru, and mixed martial arts athlete competing for the UFC in the Flyweight Division is currently in Kyrgyzstani. She is the younger sister of the former UFC Flyweight champ and the fellow UFC athlete Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko began her professional journey as a Muay Thai boxer. Her debut was in 2003 at the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko was the winner at the event and beat Suzane Milliner with a unanimous verdict. Antonina was able to follow it up, and won a silver medal in 2007, a bronze award in 2008 and a gold award in 2011, and was the year-end 2016 IFMA Amateur Muay Thailand World Champion. Antonia began her professional career in 2003 and took home the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship in 2012 the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship in 2016 as well as the WMC as well as the Phoenix FC World Championships in the year 2016. Antonina has fought her last time against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas, at Phoenix Fighting Championship. She won by a an unanimous vote. Antonina Shevchenko set the professional MMA record in 2002 during KFK's Cup in Kyrgystan against Anara Bayanova. She took the title with a TKO during the 2nd round. She went on to win her 2 subsequent fights and both of them at the WXF X-Impact World Championships of 2003. She was awarded the record of 3-0 in MMA. Shevchenko took a short absence from MMA and focused on her boxing. Shevchenko made her comeback in 2017 with Anissa Diddaoui. Shevchenko defeated Anissa by unanimous decision after which she beat Valerie Domergue in Phoenix FC 4. In 2018, she resigned from the tournament and started competing in Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko was able to take on Jaimelene Nievera as part of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. Antonina defeated Nievera by her striking skills that were superior at the end of the fight with knees placed on her body. Antonina's UFC contract was re-extended after this win. Antonina Shychenko debuted for the UFC at the Heavy Hitters event of TUF finals, where she faced Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko won the fight by unanimous decision, but she was defeated in her subsequent fight with Roxanne Modafferi via split decision. Antonina returned to the ring after the defeat and beat Lucie Pudddilova at UFC on ESPN Covington-Lawler by rear-naked submissions in the 2nd round. The fight was awarded Antonina the prize of Fight of The Night. Shevchenko went 2-2 in her next 3 fights. She beat Ariane Lipski and lost to Katlyn Chokagian and Andrea Lee. Antonina has recently been knocked down by a TKO in round two to Casey O'Neill, at UFC Fight Night Santos Vs. Walker.
